2023 SUMMER SCHOOL AT SOUTHAMPTON
Southampton University hosted our members for a week of braving the British weather (in other words a lot of rain) during outdoor team-building, participating in workshops (on CV building, machine learning, and 3D scanning to name a few), and attending emotive lectures from inspiring individuals like Paralympian Dave Henson representing the company he co-founded ‘GO Assistive Technology’.
Cambodia 2023
A group of our members and supervisors visited Cambodia in January 2023. Whilst there they gave presentations to the Faculty of Prosthetic and Orthotic Engineering, learnt about the PandO clinics in Cambodia, visited Chhouk the elephant with his prosthetic leg and Apopo who train rats to detect landmines and save lives.
Three Peaks Challenge Sept 2022
12 members completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, raising an amazing £1300 for the limb power charity. Read more here.
Summer School 2022
In the summer of 2022, Imperial College London hosted our members for a week long summerschool including activities such as: gait labs, MATLAB workshops, CV Workshops, Team building exercises and 3-minute-thesis presenttions.
CDT Conference Dec 2021
The first ever student led CDT conference was held in December 2021. It was held online due to travel restrictions. All the recordings of the conference are on YouTube here.
OT World 2022
The CDT was represented at the OT World in Leipzig. As well as having a stand, our members attended talks and had discussions with other attending companies.
2020 Summer School: Lake District
Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, some of our members and CDT management were able to attend this year’s summer school hosted at the Lake District. Our members participated in numerous activities, including but not limited to: P&O and wellbeing workshops, research and guest talks, hiking and watersports
